Muck & Roley in the Sunflower Factory

Released in 2005, the Muck & Roley in the Sunflower Factory set (3289-1) was part of the LEGO Duplo Bob the Builder theme. This collaboration brought the characters from the popular British animated television series into the chunky, toddler-friendly format of Duplo, allowing children to engage in construction-themed roleplay. The set was designed to capture the distinct aesthetic of the show, featuring recognizable vehicle designs that were simplified for younger builders while maintaining the iconic yellow color schemes associated with the characters.

The design of these figures and their accompanying build focused on safety and ease of manipulation, hallmarks of the Duplo brand. By providing a brick-built factory setting along with the Muck and Roley figures, the set aimed to foster creative narrative play centered around building and fixing. Upon release, it was well-received by parents who valued the combination of licensed character recognition and the developmental benefits of building blocks, serving as a staple in the late-2000s expansion of the Duplo licensed portfolio.
