Where it came from
The Munce set, released under the Ninjago theme in 2020, originated from the Master of the Mountain story arc. Designed to represent the subterranean dwellers of Shintaro, the figures and accompanying rock-work constructs were developed to evoke a fantasy aesthetic distinct from the more traditional ninja motifs of the line.
This set was received as a functional addition to the Ninjago world-building, focusing on playability and character integration for the theme's long-running series. The design emphasizes earthy textures and tribal-inspired armor, reflecting the creative team's shift toward incorporating diverse mythological influences within the modular world of Ninjago.
