Where it came from
The Music Shop & Apartment, released as part of the Lego Friends theme in 2024, was designed to expand the narrative landscape of Heartlake City. Following the 2023 relaunch of the theme, the set introduces a modular building concept that allows for creative integration with other urban-themed sets. The design emphasizes storytelling through a detailed music store on the ground floor, complete with instruments and accessories, and a cozy living space above.
The set was developed by the Lego design team to reflect modern creative pursuits, specifically targeting the interest in musical expression among younger builders. It incorporates the updated cast of characters introduced in the 2023 reboot, focusing on diversity and inclusivity in play. Upon release, it was well-received for its playability and its aesthetic alignment with the updated, more architectural style of the contemporary Friends series.
