Where it came from
Released by LEGO in 2016 as part of the Duplo product line, the My First Cars and Trucks set was designed to introduce toddlers to basic building concepts. The set features chunky, durable components specifically engineered for small hands, reflecting the brand's long-standing focus on early childhood development and fine motor skill enhancement.
The design team emphasized open-ended play by including varied wheel bases and brightly colored, stackable chassis elements that allow children to mix and match parts to create custom vehicles. Within the broader context of the Duplo range, this set is celebrated for its longevity and compatibility with other sets, consistently receiving positive feedback from educators and parents for its balance of simplicity and creative potential.
