Where it came from
The LEGO DUPLO My First Carousel, set number 10845, was released as part of the broader DUPLO range designed to introduce toddlers to basic construction and mechanical play. Introduced to encourage early motor skill development, the set features large, easy-to-handle bricks and a rotating gear mechanism that allows children to assemble a functional, turning carousel ride. It reflects the design philosophy of the DUPLO line, which prioritizes safety, durability, and intuitive play for children aged 1.5 to 3 years.
The aesthetic of the set follows the vibrant, primary-color palette characteristic of the DUPLO brand, focusing on simple geometric forms that appeal to early cognitive development. It was received as a straightforward, durable addition to the DUPLO carnival-themed sub-themes, often marketed as a companion piece to other buildable rides in the series. The design emphasizes chunky, rounded components to ensure that the set remains both engaging and appropriate for its young target demographic.
