Nya

Released in 2011 as part of the inaugural wave of the Lego Ninjago theme, the 2172 Nya set represents the introduction of the Spinjitzu combat-themed spinner sets. Designed to coincide with the launch of the Ninjago television series, this set focused on the character of Nya, the sister of Kai and the eventual Water Ninja. These early sets were conceived as a way to combine traditional building with a kinetic tabletop game, featuring a unique spinner base and a selection of elemental weapons that allowed children to physically 'battle' their figures.

The figure design captures Nya in her early training attire, drawing inspiration from Japanese aesthetics blended with contemporary fantasy elements. The set was created under the direction of the Lego Design Team to establish the core visual identity of the theme, prioritizing modularity and playability. Upon its release, the spinner line was met with widespread enthusiasm, credited with helping Ninjago become one of the most enduring and commercially successful original intellectual properties in the company's history.
