Olivia's Observatory

Olivia’s Observatory, part of the LEGO Friends theme, was released as a promotional set in 2018. The set was designed to complement the larger Olivia’s Mission Vehicle and Heartlake City themes, which were introduced to broaden the appeal of the Friends line by incorporating more complex, activity-based builds. It centers on the character Olivia, who is established within the narrative as the resident inventor and scientist of the group, and it serves to emphasize the theme's focus on encouraging girls to engage with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The design follows the bright color palette and stylized aesthetic characteristic of the Friends sub-theme, utilizing a mix of lavender, azure, and white elements to create a compact, accessible telescope station. Created by the LEGO Group's design team, the set was intended to offer a quick, affordable entry point for fans of the show and collectors interested in accessory-sized builds. It was received as a functional, well-integrated expansion to the wider Friends world, praised for its specific inclusion of printed tiles and a unique telescope assembly that fit neatly into the existing modular layout of the 2018 collection.
