Where it came from
Released in 2017 as part of the LEGO Juniors line, the Police Truck Chase set (10735-1) was designed specifically to bridge the gap between DUPLO and standard system bricks. The set was created to provide a structured yet accessible building experience for children aged 4 to 7, featuring larger pre-molded chassis pieces that allowed for quicker assembly and more immediate play potential compared to more complex modular sets.
The design of the set focuses on a classic 'cops and robbers' scenario, featuring a police truck and a mobile ATM. It reflects the broader LEGO strategy of the mid-2010s to simplify entry-level kits through the Juniors branding, which utilized clever part selection to ensure the finished model appeared substantial while remaining manageable for younger builders developing their fine motor skills.
