Where it came from
The Praetorian Guard (set 912504-1) was released in 2017 as a promotional polybag set to coincide with the theatrical debut of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. It features a simplified minifigure depiction of the Elite Praetorian Guard, the specialized warriors charged with protecting Supreme Leader Snoke. The design was intended to offer fans an accessible, entry-level way to collect characters from the then-new film's primary antagonist faction.
The set was primarily distributed through brick-and-mortar retail promotions, including as a gift-with-purchase in LEGO stores and through select regional newspaper promotions. While it utilizes a standard minifigure build, it is noted by collectors for its inclusion of the unique helmet piece and distinct color palette that mirrors the guards' appearance in the film's throne room sequence. Because it was a limited promotional release rather than a mainline retail set, it has become a modest but recognizable piece within the broader Star Wars polybag collection.
