Preston Stormer

Preston Stormer, identified as set 7164-1, was released in 2010 as part of the initial wave of the Hero Factory theme. This line was conceived by the LEGO Group as a successor to the Bionicle franchise, utilizing the same character and building system but shifting toward a more modular construction style. The theme focused on a team of robotic heroes tasked with maintaining order in a futuristic galaxy, moving away from the complex lore of its predecessor in favor of a more accessible, action-oriented premise.

The design of Preston Stormer emphasizes a metallic aesthetic with distinct blue highlights, reflecting his role as the team leader. Each Hero Factory figure was designed for high playability, featuring swappable armor pieces and weapons that allowed for customization across the product line. While the series was intended to capture a younger demographic than Bionicle, it was generally well-received by fans of constraction sets for its technical improvements and the introduction of a standardized core piece that unified the various character builds.
