Where it came from
The Resistance Bomber, released as set 911944-1, was issued in 2019 as a promotional polybag set under the Lego Star Wars theme. It was designed to coincide with the broader merchandising push for the sequel trilogy, specifically capturing the iconic heavy ordnance craft featured in the opening sequence of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The model was distributed primarily through newsstand editions of the official Lego Star Wars magazine in various European markets.
The design utilizes a micro-scale aesthetic intended to replicate the distinct vertical orientation of the B/SF-17 heavy bomber seen on screen. By distilling the ship's complex silhouette into a compact form factor, the designers prioritized recognizable geometry, such as the central engine block and the underslung payload bay. While a modest build, it was well-received by collectors of the micro-scale range for providing an accessible way to build out a Resistance fleet without the space requirements of larger system-scale sets.
