Where it came from
Released in 1986 under the LEGO LEGOLAND banner, the 6306 Road Signs set served as a supplementary accessory pack designed to enhance the burgeoning town layout systems of the era. At a time when LEGO town sets were becoming increasingly focused on interactive play environments, this set provided the necessary infrastructure to bring realism to miniature streetscapes, allowing builders to populate their cities with essential traffic indicators.
The design of the set focuses on functional simplicity, featuring classic printed tiles and stickers representing standard international traffic symbols. It was developed to integrate seamlessly with the iconic gray road baseplates prevalent in 1980s collections, and its reception was largely positive among hobbyists who valued the ability to add nuanced detail and logical traffic flow to their displays.
