Scoop on the Road

Released in 2005, the Scoop on the Road set (3272-1) was part of the Lego Duplo Bob the Builder theme. This collaboration emerged during the height of the television show's popularity, designed to bring the construction-based problem solving of the series into the hands of younger children. The set centers on Scoop, the yellow backhoe loader, and features simple, chunky, and durable components specifically engineered for toddler-aged builders.

The design of the set focuses on the character's signature yellow color and recognizable facial features, which were rendered in the larger, safer Duplo scale. By integrating character-driven vehicles into the Duplo ecosystem, the designers aimed to encourage roleplay while maintaining the core principles of basic construction and motor skill development. The set was received as a straightforward, functional addition to the broader Bob the Builder toy line, catering to the demographic that preferred sturdy plastic playthings over smaller, more intricate Lego System sets.
