Where it came from
The Shark Army Angler was released in 2017 as part of the LEGO Ninjago Movie Collectible Minifigure series. This series was produced to coincide with the theatrical debut of The LEGO Ninjago Movie, offering a specialized lineup of characters that reflected the film's stylized, nautical-themed antagonists known as Garmadon's Shark Army.
The design of the minifigure centers on the unique, bioluminescent-inspired anglerfish helmet, which features a translucent orange lure attached to the forehead. Created by the LEGO design team to bring a distinct, menacing aesthetic to the shark-themed minions, the piece was praised by the building community for its creative use of molded accessories and intricate printing, serving as a standout example of the whimsical yet detailed character design found throughout the movie-tie-in sets.
