Where it came from
Sheriff Deadpool was released as a promotional exclusive for the 2018 San Diego Comic-Con, serving as part of Marvel’s ongoing strategy to capitalize on the character’s massive popularity during the peak of the film franchise. The figure was produced as a lighthearted, thematic variant, reimagining the unconventional mercenary as a Western lawman, which aligns with the character's penchant for absurd and genre-bending costumes.
The design draws heavily from traditional Western aesthetics, featuring a distinctive tan stetson and a sheriff's badge, while retaining the character's signature red and black tactical suit. Created by the toy design teams tasked with the Marvel collector line, the figure was intended to be a tongue-in-cheek collectible for fans attending the convention. Upon its release, it was well-received by the collector community as a clever, limited-run piece that emphasized Deadpool's chaotic brand of humor.
