Where it came from
The Guardians' Ship, set number 30525-1, was released in 2017 as a promotional polybag tie-in for the Marvel Cinematic Universe film 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.' It was distributed primarily through retail promotions to generate interest in the broader wave of Lego Marvel Super Heroes sets launched alongside the film's theatrical debut, offering fans a miniature, accessible version of the Milano starship.
The design emphasizes compact, stylized representation, capturing the iconic silhouette of the Milano using a modest piece count. While such polybags are often designed by internal Lego teams focused on maximizing play value within a limited physical footprint, this set was well-received by collectors for its surprisingly accurate scale and the inclusion of a Star-Lord minifigure, which made it a sought-after addition for fans of the franchise.
