Where it came from
The LEGO Friends 'Shop with Costumes' set, identified as 561902-1, was released as a promotional polybag item. Developed as part of the broader LEGO Friends theme, which debuted in 2012 to introduce a more character-driven, narrative-focused building experience, this specific set focuses on the imaginative play common within the fictional setting of Heartlake City.
The design follows the aesthetic established by the Friends line, utilizing a vibrant color palette and specialized accessory elements intended to encourage roleplay. Like many promotional items released during the theme's peak popularity, it was designed to be an accessible entry point for younger builders, emphasizing the social interactions of the core cast of characters.
