Where it came from
Released in 2019 as part of the Lego Friends theme, the Heartlake City Amusement Pier (41375-1) represents a significant expansion in the play experience of the series. Designed to depict a bustling carnival environment, the set focuses on interactive play features, incorporating mechanical functions such as a spinning carousel, a drop tower, and a ticket kiosk to capture the atmospheric energy of a seaside attraction.
The design team focused on bright color palettes and complex modular structures to appeal to younger builders while challenging them with advanced structural techniques. Upon its launch, the set was well-regarded for its high piece count and the depth of its storytelling potential, marking a shift toward more elaborate, multi-build environments within the Friends line that prioritized both aesthetic display and functional playability.
