Where it came from
Released in 2021 as part of the Lego City theme, the Skate Park set (60290-1) was designed to expand the urban play experience for children by introducing recreational infrastructure to the modular city layout. It incorporates the Lego Road Plate system, a refreshed modular foundation introduced that year to replace the older, thin baseplates, allowing for a more seamless and interconnected street design.
The set features a vibrant, modern aesthetic centered around modular ramp assemblies, a seesaw, and a basketball hoop, reflecting contemporary suburban youth culture. It includes four minifigures and a road plate with a printed zebra crossing, intended to facilitate imaginative play that integrates with other City sets while prioritizing durability and ease of reconfiguration.
