Where it came from
Released in 2021 as part of the LEGO City sub-theme known as City Adventures, the Town Centre set serves as a flagship model for the modern modular plate system. Designed to integrate seamlessly with other sets using a new road plate connection method, the set reflects an effort to provide a more cohesive urban layout for builders compared to the older baseplate standards.
The set features a variety of community-focused structures, including a park, a car wash, and a fire station, illustrating the quintessential LEGO City aesthetic of active, modern suburban life. It was received as a versatile cornerstone for the City theme, specifically praised for its inclusion of various civilian figures and vehicles that help populate a broader display.
