Where it came from
Released by the LEGO Group in 2016, the Minecraft Skin Pack (853610-1) was designed to expand the customization options for players of the LEGO Minecraft theme. This set was part of a broader initiative to translate the digital skin-swapping mechanic of the original Mojang video game into a physical medium, allowing builders to diversify the inhabitants of their blocky dioramas.
The set includes four unique minifigures—the Forest Biome Skin, the Ice Biome Skin, the Desert Biome Skin, and the Fighter Skin. The design team focused on maintaining the iconic pixelated aesthetic of the game while ensuring each figure retained the standard articulation of a minifigure, representing a successful intersection between modern digital play and the traditional modular building system.
