Where it came from
The Snow Groomer set, numbered 60222, was released in 2019 as part of the Lego City Great Vehicles subtheme. This line was designed to provide accessible, realistic recreations of modern industrial machinery, appealing to builders who appreciate functional play features like moving tread tracks and an adjustable front blade for clearing snow. It captures the utilitarian aesthetic of maintenance vehicles found in ski resorts and mountain regions, focusing on mechanical playability rather than minifigure-scale environmental scenery.
The design process for this model emphasizes the rugged geometry of a PistenBully-style groomer, utilizing a compact footprint to showcase its specialized equipment. As with many City Great Vehicles releases, the set was received as a straightforward, efficient build that fills a niche gap in town-themed collections. It continues the long-standing Lego tradition of celebrating the unsung heroes of public infrastructure, ensuring that municipal play worlds have the tools necessary for winter maintenance.
