Garbage Truck

The LEGO City Garbage Truck, set number 60220-1, was released in 2019 as part of the 4+ product line. This series was specifically engineered to assist younger builders in transitioning from the larger, chunkier DUPLO bricks to the standard LEGO system. By incorporating a starter brick chassis, the design simplifies the initial assembly process, allowing children to build a functional vehicle with moving parts like an opening dumpster and a tilting bed without the frustration of complex construction techniques.

The aesthetic of this set follows the long-standing tradition of the LEGO City theme, which focuses on everyday municipal services and urban life. Designed to evoke the familiar look of a standard residential sanitation vehicle, the model uses a vibrant color palette and simplified structural elements to ensure durability during active play. Since its release, the set has been recognized by the building community as an effective entry point for young enthusiasts, successfully balancing iconic playability with the accessible design language of the 4+ sub-theme.
