Where it came from
The 5005956-1 Stranger Things poster was produced by the LEGO Group as a promotional item during the 2019 launch of the 75810 The Upside Down set. This collectible was designed to build anticipation for the company's first foray into the world of Hawkins, Indiana, serving as a companion piece that emphasizes the show's signature 1980s aesthetic. Its release coincided with a highly publicized collaboration between Netflix and LEGO, marking a departure from the company's traditional licensed themes to target an older, nostalgia-driven audience.
The poster features stylized, minimalist graphic design that mirrors the retro-horror art style popularized by theatrical posters of the 1980s. By utilizing a dual-image composition that flips the Upside Down relative to the primary scene, the illustration captures the central narrative conflict of the series. The artwork was well-received by the collector community for its ability to distill the complex themes of the show into a clean, iconic visual format that distinguishes it from standard mass-market promotional material.
