Taskmaster's Ambush

Taskmaster's Ambush (77905-1) was released by The LEGO Group in 2020 as a promotional set tied to the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Black Widow. Originally intended to coincide with the film's theatrical debut, the set's release was adjusted due to the global pandemic and subsequent rescheduling of the movie. It features a buildable Taskmaster vehicle and minifigures of Black Widow, Red Guardian, and Taskmaster, capturing the gritty, espionage-focused aesthetic of the source material.

The design of the set focuses on the rugged, tactical appearance of the characters as they appear in the film. While the set was limited in its initial distribution, primarily available through select retailers and event-specific channels, it garnered attention from collectors for its inclusion of the Red Guardian minifigure, which did not appear in other widely distributed sets of that wave. The set is regarded as a niche but significant piece for Marvel completists due to its specific production context and the scarcity of its character lineup.
