Where it came from
Released in 2024 as part of the LEGO City theme, The City Tower (60473-1) was designed to expand the modular cityscape play experience. The set reflects the modern design language of the City line, focusing on urban density and verticality, allowing builders to integrate a multi-story structure into their existing street layouts. It emphasizes playability through various functional components intended for younger builders and city planners alike.
The design process for this set prioritized modularity and character-driven scenarios, featuring a selection of minifigures to populate the tower. The aesthetics align with the contemporary City aesthetic, which often features vibrant color palettes and sturdy build techniques meant to withstand active play. Upon its release, it was positioned as a core component for expanding metropolitan-themed LEGO environments.
