Where it came from
The Collector, designated as COMCON035-1, was released as a limited-edition promotional figure specifically for San Diego Comic-Con. Produced under the Marvel brand, the figure depicts Taneleer Tivan, an ancient cosmic entity known for curating artifacts across the galaxy. Its creation was intended to capitalize on the character's heightened visibility in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, particularly his role in Guardians of the Galaxy.
The figure draws inspiration from the character’s eccentric appearance, characterized by his opulent robes and stark, otherworldly aesthetic. Designed to appeal to niche collectors, the piece aims to capture the character's enigmatic presence through intricate sculpting and thematic accessories. It was received by the collector community as a sought-after rarity, often valued for its exclusivity and the specific context of its convention-only distribution.
