The Council of Elrond

Released in 2013 as part of the Lego Lord of the Rings theme, The Council of Elrond set recreates the pivotal scene from the first film, The Fellowship of the Ring. Produced to coincide with the broader expansion of the company's licensed Middle-earth offerings, the set serves as a narrative anchor for the series, capturing the moment the Fellowship is formed within the elven sanctuary of Rivendell. Its inclusion in the product line allowed collectors to assemble key figures like Elrond, Gimli, and Arwen in an architectural setting reflective of the film's aesthetic.

The design of set 79006-1 emphasizes the unique elven architecture seen in Peter Jackson's cinematic adaptation, utilizing tan, brown, and green color palettes to mimic the serene environment of Imladris. The build features a rotating dais and an interlocking wall structure designed to represent the circular assembly area. Critics and fans generally praised the set for its inclusion of exclusive minifigures and its faithful translation of the film's iconic set design into a compact, displayable form, marking it as a highlight within the short-lived initial run of the theme.
