Where it came from
The LEGO System House (set 4000034) was released in 2016 as an exclusive commemorative set to celebrate the opening of the LEGO House in Billund, Denmark. Designed to replicate the architectural philosophy of the 'Home of the Brick,' the model captures the unique stacked-block aesthetic that defines the landmark building, which serves as both a museum and a gathering place for the global LEGO community.
The set was primarily distributed to attendees of the grand opening events and specific internal LEGO Group functions. The design reflects the vision of Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), the architecture firm responsible for the real-life structure, which sought to represent the LEGO brick as a building block for creativity. It is widely considered a significant collector's piece due to its limited availability and its role in documenting the structural evolution of the LEGO brand's physical headquarters.
