Where it came from
Released in 2023 as part of the LEGO Minecraft theme, The Panda Haven (set 21245) was designed to bring the iconic bamboo-filled sanctuary from the game into a physical, modular format. The set reflects the ongoing expansion of the Minecraft product line, which focuses on recreating the sandbox game's biomes and mob behaviors through specialized, blocky builds that appeal to both young builders and long-time fans of the video game franchise.
The design of the set centers on a structure shaped like a giant panda, which functions as both a living space and a play area for the included LEGO Minecraft figures. The aesthetic intentionally replicates the game's distinct low-resolution, voxel-based graphics, prioritizing modular play features like a sitting or standing panda posture and a small nursery area. It was received as a charming addition to the theme, praised for its clever use of parts to capture the specific proportions of the in-game creatures.
