Where it came from
The Shark Attack Stunt Challenge, released in 2022 under the LEGO City Stuntz subtheme, was designed to introduce kinetic play features to the long-running City line. It features a flywheel-powered motorcycle capable of navigating a spring-loaded obstacle course, reflecting the company’s push toward more interactive, movement-based sets during that period. The design team focused on creating a compact, action-oriented experience that could be integrated with other stunt-themed sets through standardized modular connection points.
The set was conceived as an entry-level addition to the Stuntz collection, emphasizing high-speed play and simple mechanical functions. It received positive feedback from the building community for its inclusion of unique molded shark elements and the reliability of the friction-motor bike. By prioritizing accessibility and durability, the design successfully bridged the gap between traditional static display models and functional toy vehicles.
