Where it came from
The LEGO Star Wars TIE Advanced set 911722-1 was released in 2022 as part of the long-running LEGO Star Wars magazine promotional line. This series of foil-bagged sets is designed to offer accessible, micro-scale versions of iconic spacecraft from the Star Wars universe, providing younger builders and collectors with compact representations of ships that occasionally appear in larger, more expensive playsets.
The model captures the distinct angular silhouette of Darth Vader’s personal TIE Advanced x1, featuring the characteristic bent-wing design that differentiates it from the standard TIE fighter. Created by the LEGO Group under license from Lucasfilm, the design focuses on essential geometry to maximize recognizability within a limited piece count. It was received by the community as a functional, space-efficient interpretation of a fan-favorite vehicle, typical of the consistent design language found in the magazine's monthly build offerings.
