Where it came from
The Trench Run, identified as set 6615760-1, belongs to a series of promotional micro-builds released under the LEGO Star Wars theme. These sets were designed to capture iconic moments from the original trilogy in a compact, accessible format, appealing to both adult collectors and younger fans by focusing on the kinetic energy of the Death Star pursuit rather than complex structural detail.
The design emphasizes the architectural aesthetic of the Death Star’s surface, utilizing a limited palette of grey and black bricks to simulate the mechanical landscape seen in A New Hope. Like many promotional items released through official channels, it was intended to serve as a celebratory piece for the Star Wars legacy, and it has since become a cherished niche item within the wider LEGO community for its efficient use of scale.
