Twin-Pod Cloud Car & Bespin

The Twin-Pod Cloud Car and Bespin set was released in 2012 as part of the LEGO Star Wars Planet Series. This collection focused on pairing iconic, smaller-scale starships with a buildable, hangable planet representing the locale where the vehicle appeared in the Star Wars films. The set was designed to capture the unique aesthetic of Cloud City, utilizing a mini-scale build for the Cloud Car that prioritized the characteristic twin-pod configuration and vibrant orange color scheme seen in The Empire Strikes Back.

The design team emphasized compact, recognizable builds that were accessible to younger collectors while providing display value through the inclusion of a detailed planet sphere and a display stand with a plaque. It was received as a functional and decorative addition to the broader Planet Series, which was praised for its creative approach to integrating minifigure-scale pilot figures with miniature models of famous starships, marking a departure from the larger, more complex play sets typical of the licensed theme.
