Where it came from
The Yoda Display Box, designated as NYCC2013-1, was produced as a highly limited promotional item for the 2013 New York Comic Con. It was designed to showcase specific Star Wars merchandise, acting as both a protective vessel and a curated presentation piece intended to appeal to serious collectors attending the convention. The design reflects the minimalist aesthetic favored by Lucasfilm during this era, focusing on iconic character imagery to emphasize the prestige of the limited-run set.
The packaging was developed by the Lucasfilm marketing team in collaboration with convention organizers to celebrate the enduring legacy of the Star Wars franchise. At the time of its release, the box was received as a sought-after convention exclusive, valued primarily for its scarcity and its function as a display component for accompanying collectibles. It remains a notable example of how event-specific branding was used to generate engagement among the Star Wars fan community.
