Where it came from
The 4*Town character card appears in the Disney Lorcana trading card game, specifically within the Illumineer's Quest: The Great Hunny Rescue expansion released in 2024. The card depicts the boy band ensemble from the 2022 Pixar film Turning Red, capturing their distinct early 2000s pop aesthetic. This set was designed as a cooperative gameplay experience, shifting the focus from competitive dueling to a shared challenge against a common adversary, Ursula.
The art style draws directly from the animation team at Pixar, emphasizing the stylized, vibrant character designs of Robaire, Jesse, Tae Young, Aaron T., and Aaron Z. The card was crafted to bring a sense of nostalgia and musical energy to the game, reflecting the band's role in the film as a cultural touchstone for the protagonists. It has been well-received by collectors who value thematic crossover items and the specific pop-culture influence of the Turning Red film.
