Where it came from
Overwhelm is an action card featured in the Illumineer's Quest: The Great Hunny Rescue set for the Disney Lorcana trading card game, released in 2024. This specialized product was designed as a cooperative gameplay experience, allowing players to work together against a formidable automated opponent, Ursula. The card serves as a thematic mechanic within this structured encounter, reflecting the chaotic challenges players face while attempting to rescue honey from the Heffalumps and Woozles.
The card’s design aligns with the whimsical yet slightly foreboding aesthetic of the A.A. Milne-inspired levels found in the quest. As part of a dedicated cooperative release, the card’s mechanics are balanced specifically for the group-play format rather than standard competitive play. Its inclusion in the Great Hunny Rescue reflects Ravensburger's intent to broaden the appeal of the Lorcana system by introducing cooperative storytelling elements alongside traditional card battling.
