Where it came from
Chernabog's Followers was introduced in the 2024 set Into the Inklands for the Disney Lorcana trading card game. As an uncommon character card, it represents the spectral minions featured in the Night on Bald Mountain sequence of the 1940 film Fantasia. The card serves as a thematic inclusion for the Amethyst ink archetype, leaning into the darker, mystical aesthetics found within Disney's villain-centric lore.
The card features artwork that captures the fluid, ethereal nature of the spirits as they gather around the demonic figure of Chernabog. Design-wise, the illustration aims to maintain the gothic, brooding tone of the original animation, emphasizing the swirling, ghostly silhouettes that define the sequence. Within the competitive landscape of Lorcana, the card is recognized for its functional utility in deck building rather than its rarity, serving as a staple support creature for players utilizing aggressive or swarm-based strategies.
