Where it came from
Invited to the Ball is an action card introduced in the Shimmering Skies set for the Disney Lorcana trading card game, released by Ravensburger in 2024. As a centerpiece of the set's narrative progression, the card depicts a classic high-fantasy ball scene, emphasizing the game's focus on integrating iconic Disney storytelling with traditional collectible card game mechanics.
The card’s illustration follows the game's established art direction, which leans into vibrant, painterly styles to evoke the feeling of animation cells. By categorizing the card as a special rarity, the design team highlighted its utility and visual appeal, positioning it as both a tactical asset for players and a sought-after aesthetic piece for collectors during the Shimmering Skies release window.
