Provenance

Where it came from

Released as part of the Attack of the Vine! expansion set, card number 16, With a Few Good Friends, functions as a special action card within the game's broader tactical ecosystem. The set was developed to introduce more collaborative gameplay mechanics, shifting the meta-game away from purely solitary resource gathering toward chain-reaction strategies that rewarded players for maintaining multiple active units on the board simultaneously.

The card’s visual design reflects the whimsical yet strategic aesthetic of the era’s collectible card games, emphasizing character interaction through lush, vine-themed illustrations. While the specific illustrator remains uncredited in public archives, the card was received by the community as a high-utility piece for defensive decks, becoming a staple in competitive play for its ability to mitigate damage through effective board presence.
