What it does
Target creature gets +2/+2 and gains indestructible until end of turn. (Damage and effects that say "destroy" don't destroy it.)
The shield took a year to craft, a month to enchant, and a decade to master—all for one glorious moment.

Where it came from
Adamant Will was released in the 2018 expansion set Dominaria, a set designed to celebrate the history of Magic: The Gathering by returning to its namesake plane. As a common instant, the card serves a functional role in the set's limited environment, emphasizing the heroic, protective themes inherent to the white mana color identity and the knightly aesthetic of the Benalish culture.
The card features artwork by the illustrator Matt Stewart, who sought to capture the essence of a sudden, divinely inspired defensive maneuver. Stewart's depiction of a soldier standing firm against a barrage reflects the card's mechanical effect, which grants a creature indestructible status for the turn. It was well-received by players for its efficiency and thematic resonance with the set's broader focus on historic and legendary elements.
