Where it came from
Adherent's Heirloom was released as part of the Alchemy: Lorwyn Eclipsed set for Magic: The Gathering Arena. This digital-only release was designed to expand upon the themes of the original Lorwyn plane, incorporating mechanics that utilize the unique possibilities of the digital platform, such as perpetual adjustments and conjuring, to capture the whimsical yet sometimes dark folklore of the setting.
The art and mechanical design for this card were developed by the Wizards of the Coast digital design team. They aimed to evoke the aesthetic of Kithkin culture, emphasizing the themes of community and inherited legacies central to the plane. Upon its release, it was received as a niche utility card intended to support tribal synergies within the Alchemy format's specific meta-environment.
