This specific printing comes from the Commander 2013 product line, a series of preconstructed decks released to support the popular Commander multiplayer format, which emphasized legendary creatures and enduring board states.

The artwork for this version was provided by fantasy illustrator Fred Fields, whose work often explores the dramatic, rugged landscapes of the multiverse. His depiction of the Akoum region on the plane of Zendikar emphasizes the jagged, volcanic peaks and the harsh red rock formations characteristic of the continent.
