Where it came from
Akroma's Will was originally introduced in the Commander Legends expansion in 2020, representing the protective and commanding essence of the legendary angel Akroma. The card quickly became a staple in the Commander format due to its versatility, allowing players to grant their creatures protection and various combat keywords simultaneously to swing the tide of a game.
The Secrets of Strixhaven Mystical Archive version, released in 2021, features a unique Japanese-inspired art style distinct from the original printing. This artistic initiative reimagined iconic spells within the aesthetic framework of the Strixhaven University setting, focusing on a vibrant, stylized presentation that appealed to both competitive players and those who collect unique visual variants.
