What it does
Reach (This creature can block creatures with flying.)
You may play lands from your graveyard.
If a land entering causes a triggered ability of a permanent you control to trigger, that ability triggers an additional time.
The macroscopic tardigrade's four-dimensional brain instinctively navigates the mycelial network underpinning reality.

Where it came from
Ancient Greenwarden was originally introduced in the Zendikar Rising expansion for Magic: The Gathering in 2020. The card was designed to embody the themes of the Zendikar plane, specifically the powerful, elemental nature of the world’s wilderness. Its mechanics, which allow players to recur cards from the graveyard, were intended to reflect the concept of nature reclaiming and cycling life, grounding the card as a high-value utility piece in green-aligned decks.
The version from the Star Trek Commander set, released as part of the Universes Beyond collaboration, represents a thematic crossover that blends Magic’s established elemental designs with the aesthetic sensibilities of the Star Trek franchise. The illustration and layout were updated to align with the set's sci-fi visual identity, aiming to bridge the gap between fantasy roleplay and the iconic imagery of the source material. It remains a staple for players looking to utilize graveyard-based strategies within the Commander format.
