Angel of Glory's Rise

Angel of Glory's Rise was first introduced as part of the Avacyn Restored set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game in 2012. The card was specifically released as a promotional variant during the set's launch period, featuring alternate art that highlights the divine and restorative themes central to the narrative of the plane of Innistrad. As a high-cost white creature, it was designed to serve as a powerful late-game engine for Human-tribal strategies, allowing players to return their fallen allies from the graveyard to the battlefield simultaneously.

The artwork for this promo version was crafted to emphasize the ethereal and heroic nature of the angel, contrasting the gothic horror aesthetic that dominated the wider Avacyn Restored expansion. This iteration of the card has since become a staple for collectors who favor the unique visual identity of limited-run promotional materials. Within the competitive landscape, the card is remembered for its significant impact on the Limited and Commander formats, where its ability to swing the momentum of a game by filling the board with creatures remains highly regarded.
