Angelic Quartermaster // Angelic Quartermaster

The Angelic Quartermaster card from the Crimson Vow Art Series was released in 2021 as part of a specialized subset for Magic: The Gathering. These cards were designed to highlight the illustrative work behind the set, featuring full-art reproductions of the game's creature cards without the traditional text boxes or game mechanics. This series served as a collectible homage to the visual storytelling that defines the Innistrad plane, providing players and art enthusiasts with a focused look at the intricate character designs developed for the Gothic horror-inspired expansion.

The illustration itself captures the solemn aesthetic of the Innistrad angels, balancing the traditional iconography of divine protection with the darker, atmospheric palette characteristic of the Crimson Vow release. Artists tasked with these designs sought to emphasize the textures of armor and celestial light, creating a sense of weight and sanctity that resonated with the set's central conflict. Upon release, these art cards were well-received by the collector community for their high-quality print standards and their role in elevating the aesthetic appreciation of trading card game art.
