Angelic Skirmisher

Angelic Skirmisher was originally released as a rare creature in the 2013 Magic: The Gathering expansion set Gatecrash. This specific promotional version, identified by collector number A11, was distributed as part of the game's official release events to reward players for their participation. The card represents the Boros Legion, one of the primary factions within the setting of Ravnica, embodying the aggressive yet protective nature of their ideology through its combat-focused mechanics.

The artwork for the card was created by artist Johannes Voss, who utilized a vivid, celestial aesthetic to capture the imposing nature of the angel. By granting creatures the ability to gain first strike, vigilance, or lifelink each turn, the design reflects the tactical versatility expected of a high-ranking Boros combatant. Upon its debut, the card was noted for its potential impact in limited formats, where its ability to swing the momentum of a game by providing consistent combat advantages was well-regarded by the community.
