Artisan of Kozilek

Artisan of Kozilek was originally released in the Rise of the Eldrazi set in 2010, designed to capture the overwhelming, otherworldly scale of the Eldrazi titans. As a colorless creature with the Annihilator ability, it serves as a staple of ramp-heavy strategies, forcing opponents to sacrifice their permanents upon its attack. The Modern Horizons 3 Commander printing, numbered 153, retains this iconic functional identity while serving as a thematic inclusion for decks centered around Eldrazi tribal synergies.

The visual design of the card, particularly in its various iterations, emphasizes the alien and reality-warping nature of the Kozilek brood. It features the sharp, geometric, and asymmetrical aesthetic synonymous with the Eldrazi, often depicted in stark, desolate landscapes to highlight their role as consumers of worlds. The reception of the card among players has remained consistently high, as it provides a powerful, repeatable reanimation effect that rewards players for committing significant resources to the battlefield.
