Arwen Undómiel // Arwen Undómiel

The Tales of Middle-earth Art Series was released by Wizards of the Coast in 2023 as part of the Magic: The Gathering expansion set that brought J.R.R. Tolkien’s legendarium into the game’s multiverse. These cards serve as collectible art prints rather than standard gameplay pieces, designed to highlight the high-fantasy aesthetic and intricate character depictions commissioned specifically for this crossover. The series was created to offer players and collectors a tangible gallery of the set’s most notable visual interpretations.

This particular card features the illustration of Arwen Undómiel by artist Magali Villeneuve, a prominent figure in fantasy illustration known for her evocative character work. Villeneuve’s design captures Arwen’s ethereal nature and regal lineage, aiming to reflect the character's profound sense of destiny and grace as described in Tolkien’s works. Upon release, the art series was well-received by fans of both the card game and the source material for its ability to present these iconic figures without the typical clutter of game mechanics.
